It is on my mind...

What you think about is very important.  The thing that occupies your thought life has a huge impact on your spiritual life.

Solomon knew the value of the heart. He reminds us to "Guard our heart with all diligence. For out of it springs the issues of life."  Proverbs 4:23

The Apostle Paul admonished us to "Keep the main thing the main thing" in his letter to the Christians in Philippi.  Philippians 3:13, Paul said, "... This one thing I do..."he went on to talk about his single- minded pursuit of Jesus Christ.

E.M. Bounds, on of the most prolific authors of books about prayer, wrote these words.  "It is essential, in our Christian Walk." that we have something definite in view and we strike out for that one goal. It is important that we do not lose sight of the starting point in the religious life, and that we measure the steps already walked...

But it is likewise necessary to keep the end in view and the steps required to reach the standard are always in sight," (The Power of Prayer, E.M> Bounds, Sept. 2)

In the view from the chair in which I am now sitting there is on the wall a beautiful Calligraphy (a gift from a friend) of a quote by Robert Murray McCheyne, of Dundee,

Scotland, who died at age 29.  His young life shook Scotland. The quote reminds us of what was on Mc'Cheyne's mind continually, O God, make me as holy as a saved many can be." Because it is written, Be holy for I am holy.

E.M. Bounds/ Roger Willmore

Rev. Dr. Ken Horiuchi, Osaka, Japan modeled in his life and ministry what a single-minded man looks life. Dr. Horiuch was a Christian statesman, preacher, pastor and church planter. He was not only a single-minded man, he was a serious -minded man. (Thou he be dead, he still speaks.  Hebrews 11:4, God's word regarding Abel)
